VMCu Carnival Review 2025
Following a successful review by representatives of most competing associations, the VMCU board and VMCU Carnival organizing committee held on August 17 at Citipower center, the following was agree to in principle:
Structural Changes
(Objective is to have even numbers in each grade. Where an odd number appears, teams may be excluded or relegated depending on historical performances from previous seasons)
Male:
• U17 Beitzel (Merge U18 Arnold and U16 Britzel) – Turf Competition
• U16 MacKay
• U14 Allen (Composite of Turf & Synthetic)
• U13 Nolan (Change from U14 to U3)
• U12 Mitchell
• U12 Browne
• U12 Arnold (New grade) potential new offering to larger associations who want to offer development grade, or option to offer second option to fill BYES and subject to nominations
Female:
• U17 Mel Jones
• U14 Julie Savage
• U12 Claudia Fatone
RULE CHANGE SUGGESTIONS
• 16.10 Fielding restrictions will be in place for all matches, utilising a restriction ring employing a minimum of 20 flat marker discs to be placed in a circle and from the centre of the wicket: The distance of such restriction ring is to be:
U12, U14 Female – 20 meters, U14 – 25 meters, U16 & U18 – 30 meters.
However should any oval be less than the required boundary distance any restriction ring is to be no more than 50% of said boundary distance.
(add in the note for U14 female to be 20m markers)
• Bowling Run Ups be restricted to 15m in grades up to and including U14 (help speed up game)
• Supply of Umpires for round robin stage to remain as Homes Association to supply both umpires.
• Neutral umpires for Semi Finals and Grand Finals
• End of Game for Round Robin stage: Default should be that Both Sides must agree to not continue.
(Match must play till both sides have completed overs, unless both sides agree to not continue, at any stage after a result has been reached)
• End of Game for Finals: Match ends when a result is achieved

CHILD SAFETY
• All Competing Associations must check the status of all coaches, Team Managers and officials
• All Team Managers and Coaches must update their credentials, including WWC in PlayHQ not only in the club, but in the Association Rep entity.
Playing DAtes
The carnival will commence on Monday Jan 5, 2026 and play for the next two weeks culminating in the finals (for most) on Sunday Jan 18, 2026
